Annual
General Meeting 2004
 The
Houston Land Rover Club Annual General Meeting took place
on Friday, November 12th 2004 in the Renaissance Hotel,
Greenaway Plaza.

The meeting will be open to all paid up members (for
the year July 2004 – June 2005). However, if you were
paid up until June 2004, you will have the opportunity
to renew membership at the door. Our membership secretary
promises to be equipped to generate and deliver membership
cards on the spot! Members may bring their direct family
members, but non-family members should not be invited.
Doors will open at 6.30 pm, when refreshments and
drinks will be served. The meetings formal agenda will
start at 7.30.
To ensure that we can organize the catering and the
room for the meeting, we need an accurate head count
in advance. So please you sign up on the web site (or
contact Libby McDuff* by phone or e-mail) by the 31st
October, and let us know how many will be in your party.
Door Prizes:
There will be a lot of valuable door prizes given away
at the AGM, donated by many LR vendors, such as Rover’s
North, Atlantic British, Rovertym, Expedition Exchange,
as well as the local Land Rover dealers and specialist
shops. On top of these freebies, the Club has purchased
several Storm Cases to give away, as well as Wedco
Jerry cans, Rovertym 3” spring set, diff guards from
Safari Gard, and many more!
Two important rules for the Door prizes:
- You MUST sign up on the web site or let Libby
McDuff * know you are coming before Oct. 31st
- You must
have a current membership card with you (renewing
members will receive their card when they
pay their annual fee.
- You must be present at the
time of the drawing to claim your prize!

Special Raffle:
In addition to the Door Prizes, there will be a special
raffle for an Engle MT45 Freezer/Fridge!
Tickets for each raffle will cost $10.00 each. They
will only be sold to current, paid up members. No limit
to number of tickets purchased, with separate tickets
for each raffle.
Tickets will be available for purchase at the AGM at
the door if you have not purchased your tickets already!
You do NOT have to be present at the AGM to claim the
special raffle prize, but hope you will be there!!!!
Election of next year’s Committee:
The most important item on the agenda is the election
of the club committee, and nominations will be accepted
up until October 31st, 2004.
The following positions are up for nomination, with
the current incumbent in that position also listed.
A few nominations have been received so far, and they
are listed.
If no nominations are received for any position, the
current incumbent will be placed on the ballot for
the election.
Obviously, the committee will contact any person nominated,
in order to confirm their willingness to stand. We
have only one condition on the nominations: it has
been our custom to limit nominations for the post of
President from existing or past committee members,
in order that that person has the advantage of some
experience in the running of the club. Traditionally
in the Club, the outgoing Vice President assumes the
position of President.
