HLRC: Monthly Meeting Minutes

September 3rd, 2003 Monthly Meeting at JAX's Grill

Ken started the meeting at 7:35PM with the usual intros.
Ken asks Trey to update the group on the plan to adopt a trail in Gilmer. He says that the trail we are adopting is a “2” and that Disco’s should have no problem taking that trail. Lance brings up that we have the opportunity, as a club, to name this trail we are adopting. During this conversation it is decided that we will first take suggestions on what to name the trail. Then, the executive board will choose from the favorites, and post them to be voted on. The deadline for the name suggestions is September 12th. Hopefully, if Bill has time, the next day we can put three of the best one’s up for a vote on the website.
The deadline for voting will be September 17th, as the people in Gilmer need this info so they can make our sign!
Ken updates us on upcoming events:

Ken also reminds us that the AMG is nearing closer. He is asking for volunteers to help plan our yearly event. He is also gearing up for nominations for next year’s board. If you are someone or know someone, who would like to on the executive board, please send any and all nominations directly to Libby McDuff (Secretary) at emoiselle@earthlink.net.
Chris has input about a “lift” that he can get. He suggests that since we have these monster garage sessions that it might be nice to purchase this lift and store it at Lance M’s shop. (Note: He said the price and I can’t remember what he said)
Lance brings up an idea of registering our club with FEMA, Red Cross and/or Disaster Relief. He says that it would be neat, as a club, to help when disaster strikes! Most attending really liked this idea.
