The meeting began with the usual
member introductions and round table.
Kevin Collins stood up and gave a
progress report on his Defender, which has been in the
shop for almost a year. He found out that he has 4 bends
on the frame, and the rear axle housing was also bent. He
was hit by a Toyota Celica.
Steve Maldonado stated that the next
Columbus event is October 6th. Saturday, Oct
19th is the All English Car Show at Traders
Village. Upcoming trips to Double Lake and Spindletop were
also discussed.
Doug also recapped Bill RitchieĦs
build of his D110.
The committee will be meeting to
schedule the last quarter events for the year. The AGM
will be around the beginning of November. At the AGM, new
committee positions will be up for grabs as well.
Lance Miller has negotiated a deal
with Dunsfold Land Rover (DLR) for rare parts on Series
vehicles. Members of the HLRC will receive 10-15%
discount with this new negotiated deal.
Lance also spoke about Wadsworth
panels that make body panels for Land Rovers. The only
problem is that they donĦt accept credit cards or American
money. DLR ordered the parts needed, so they are very
easy to deal with.
Stuart Nance announced that there is
a catalog for Pangea expeditions. They sell Land Rover
parts as well as prepare expeditions for Land Rover

Ken Mendez detailed the membership
card new format to streamline the process. Members will
receive their cards on the spot, printing them at each
meeting.
